Question 1975 Chevy Monte Carlo Rally Rims?
I just bought a set of 15x8 for the front and 15x9 for the rear Chevy rally rims. I know what types of tires will fit on these rims. My question is what size tires will the car allow to fit with these rims. As in 245/60/15...255/60/15....275/60/15 and so on. Really need help so I can purchase the tires for the rims.
Best Answer This will depend on where the wheel sit when it's on the axle, centered, closer to the wheel well, or closer to the frame. This is called back spacing and your qustion can't be answered well without this info. Your best bet is to go to a tire shop and get their opinion because they can see where the wheel sits and work from a known point. They may even have to mount and try several different size tires to see what will work best.
